Fact Check Sticker

This Sticker is 1.5" at its longest point.

Checking 'Facts' and beliefs is a very helpful skill. Here, we have simplified a little reminder into the word 'Fact' in the shape of a checkmark; to save space for all your other stickers or pins!

Exercising a little skepticism when hearing or reading something can help with the current issues of generative AI; and with challenging our own Cognitive Distortions.

Do you know what Cognitive Distortions are?
These are biased ways our brain saves energy in sorting new information.

Just like how 'common knowledge' and beliefs for the Earth revolving around the Sun as the center point of the galaxy isn't Technically true, or that the sky isn't Technically Blue (it's Violet).

Even using the 'common knowledge' term before is assumptive; and may not be fully correct; or conditionally so based on location. For example; my psychology instructor asked in a lecture if we were taught VIBGYOR growing up. We were all confused until she continued with the lecture on sight and realized she was referring to the colors of the rainbow; which is taught as ROYGBIV here! This was the same idea, taught differently in different parts of the world.
There are many types of Cognitive Distortions in Psychology (over 10!).

We learn and integrate assumptions as we go through life. When we come across new information; our brain matches it to what we already have locked away.
This means that we can come across information that is true; but Believe isn't because it doesn't match what we 'know' already. And it will keep throwing out all 'unfamiliar' information unless we consciously and intentionally consider it.
